The Swans take Saturdays Frustration out on Cogenhoe by hitting them for six!
Cogenhoe did start the game was some quick passing and attacking football but the final ball let them down and any danger created was cleared by The Swans.
It took just five minutes for Darren Lynch to open the home account when he pounced on a cross with a spectacular scissor kick.
Then three quick fire goals sealed the home success.
John Thorpe scored the 24th minute second when he made his trade mark run to head past the keeper from a corner.
Then Luigi Rocco made it three two minutes later when he ran and beat the defender then placed the ball from the edge of the area out of the keeper reach.
And THEN Darren Lynch scored his second after 27 minutes when dykes threaded the ball through to him in a three man attack, Lynchy slotting the ball under the keeper.
Cogenhoe tried to get back into the game and a chance was missed as it was fired wide. Then another two chances came along after winning two corners in succession but they were defended well by Newport.
Vinny Shrieves joined the spree ten minutes into the second half (I missed this one as I was out fetching the ball) and the top flight's top marksman Daren dykes completed the scoring with an 86th minute penalty. dykes determined to take the penalty ahead of Lynchy as he wanted to keep ahead on the goal scoring charts. Lynchy of coarse wanting his hat trick!
Just before the penalty Cogenhoe flashed the ball across the face of the goal, no one able to get on the end of it. Then the Cogenhoe forward breaking down the left and just shooting wide of the post.
Then Warnecki making a good stop at close range to ensure the Swans kept a blank sheet.
An excellent performance and a good reply to Saturdays game by the lads.
Newport Pagnell: Paul Warnecki, Scott Mulkern, Jordan Spruce (Keith Williams), John Thorpe, Dean Buss, Liam Smyth, Daren dykes, Richard Armstrong (Matt Broomes), Vinny Shrieves, Darren Lynch, Luigi Rocco.
