A message from the Shrieves family. As already known by many, Gordon Shrieves passed away on the evening of the 31st of December 2008 at the age of 84. Although he supported any team Terry, George or myself played for he had more of an affinity with Newport, as we were involved in more ways than one. Gordon was a valuable member of the senior backroom staff organising the kit every week and helping out with other jobs on match days. Gordon’s funeral will take place at Crownhill crematorium on January 21st at 2pm. Gordon’s request for his funeral was no flowers and no black clothing. Anyone who knew him would know that he wasn’t one to mope, and would of wanted everyone to celebrate his life and not mourn. Gordon lived his life to the full and had no regrets. Any donations made will be split between the diabetes research and the hospitals CDU ward. Donations are to be sent to H.W Masons and Sons, 9, the high street Newport Pagnell. Thank you all for your support at this time.

The family of Gordon Shrieves would like to thank everyone for their support at Gordon’s funeral. Gordon would have been overwhelmed by the amount of old friends that showed up to pay their respects, but very proud.
We would also like to thank everyone for their help on the day an to all the donations to his nominated charities.
