Squad:
Luke Parker, Tom King, Matty Cullis, Jack Croxford, Mitch Tofts, Liam Scott, Jack Westbrook, Alex Collard, Haig Stringer, James Sage, Jack Allen, Marcus Bayley, Daniel Booth.
Goal Scorers:
Liam Scott 6
A solid performance from the Lions saw them overcome Scots on Wednesday night, the pace was set nice and early in the match, with the Lions stamping their authority on the game with an early goal fro, Liam, Liam went on to grab a double hatrick with some excellent finishing, and he looked to be back to his very best.
He was ably supported by the rest of the team, who to a man worked hard to gain the upper hand, there were several man to man battles go on out their with their pacey runners being matched by our own, particularly Sagey down the left wing, and Tom king behind him at left back.
We could have had more with Jack Westbrook just going wide and Cox hitting the bar and going over, with the Scot’s keeper pulling of a great save in the second half. The midfield also played a their part with Matty supplying most of the ammunition for Liam’s finishing, but Mitch and Crox were first to every ball and that made the difference.
Our back four were excellent, both Haig and Alex dominating the back line ably backed up by Boothy and Jack Allen, the wind was going to be difficult for Marcus but he coped well on the whole.
We did concede 3 weak goals, which was must as a team try and sort out, but this was a good performance from the Lions tonight. Consistency is now the key over these remaining five matches.
Well done again lads,
See you next week.
