We had an 11-a-side friendly today against Towcester, who I suspect never really got going to show their own capabilities. It was a fine sunny day , the pitch was dry and cracked in places, covered in 'sultanas' from the rabbits , and the lines were faded. That said it was the same for both teams. The Lions were at them from the off and did not relent. By half-time it was 4, and in the second half another 6 goals were added. One suspected offside goal, for which the referee apologised , but with no flag from the linesman to help and which wouldn't have affected the outcome anyway. It was nice to see the goals shared around again, last week ScottL was on the scoresheet, today it was Jamie adding his name to the usual list of scorers. Nice one Jamie ! Likewise the watch showed Joseph's goal was in 18 seconds of the second half re-start. Now there's a challenge to beat ! Thanks should be extended to all the MADS for the usual high turn out and support. Likewise thanks to Towcester for this friendly game. Well done to all of the lads, and good luck with your school sats this coming week (just try your best). We resume on Thursday... Kevin and Darren.
