The under 10's Lions were the only team representing the club at the Willen World Cup today and they came away as worthy victors!
The boys were runners up in the group stages but dominated the knock out rounds beating Willen Rhino's Reds 1-0 in the quarter final, MK City 2-0 in the semis before playing League Division 1 winners Pitstone & Ivinghoe in the final.
In a tense final ending 0-0 after extra time we faced the dreaded penalty shoot out which has been our downfall in our tournament history until today!
All of the lads were outstanding today but the hero of the hour, or to be more exact the 10 hours, was our awesome goalkeeper Kiron Das who pulled off 2 amazing penalty saves to clinch the shoot out 4-1!
A huge trophy to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this prestigious tournament was presented to the team who having had a difficult season ended it on a high as they head into a summer break.
Well done to all 9 of you today, you made us all very proud.
Team: Kiron Das, Lewis Brewer, Jack Gardner, Alex King, Hamish Bull (c) Basi Combes, Connor Ryan, Gurveer Barang, David Shannon
