UCL Premier Division
Desborough Town 1 - 1 Newport Pagnell Town
Saturday, 06 March 2010
A late penalty gave the Swans a point just when Ar Tarn looked to have secured a third successive win. Desborough applied pressure early on the show that the were not going to be the bottom placed team. But it was morning signing Michael Keall gave Ar Tarn the lead eight minutes in when he hit a low cross first time.
Pagnell pushed forward to get and equaliser but thing were not going their way. The Swans had several chances go over or wide from the front men and they even hit the cross bar with a header from Daren dykes.
For the first 20 minutes of the second half Newport Pagnell penned back Desborough in an attempt to level things but the packed Desborough defence dealt with most of the danger that the Swans threw at them.
The Arn Tarn tried to catch Newport out on the break a couple of times but Dean Bus and John Thorpe showed some solid defending.
The Swans did win a penalty 15 minutes from time but Daren dykes spot kick was neatly saved by the Desborough keeper.
The Swans did get a disputed 89th minute spot kick, converted by Vinny Shrieves, squared the game and rescue a point for Newport Pagnell.
