All,
The u12`s were back in action today, and for our last home game this season we entertained Moretonville, with an undefeated record to protect there was still something for us to play for, the scoreline might suggest we had it all our own way, but this was not the case and to be honest a very sloppy start was compounded by going 1-0 down, the football wasn`t great but the second half was better for us and managed to add to our tally after going in at the break leading 3-1, well done to Moretonville, you did yourselves proud and good luck next season.
Darren.

Match Report NPTFC u12's v Moretonville Rangers
Only 2 games to go, and the Lions were still unbeaten (just!!!), so there was still definitely something to come out fighting for. What an achievement it would be to finish the season in that position, although i doubt any of the supporters would have any fingernails left!! The boys lined up with Mason in goal, Jamie, Charlie, Scott L and Dylan in defence, Tyler, Edgar, Reeve and Shayne in midfield and Scott H and Lewis up front. Subs were Callum and Nathan, with Alex and Joe still out injured.
The start was well, a little scrappy to say the least(this really does nothing to settle our nerves!!) and Moretonville were making themselves at home, putting the Lions defence under pressure. In the 8th minute after making himself well and truly heard Tyler fights to get the ball and passes it out to Charlie who takes a shot that goes just wide. Moretonville then get the first of a number a free kicks about 30yrds out and have their attempt cleared.
11th min and Moretonville score but it is ruled offside, that is quickly followed by them winning a free kick on the half way line. As they load it into the Lions penalty area, the defenders get to work, but the ref deems Dylan's defending as persistent fouling and gives a penalty. Mason manages to save the first attempt but Moretonville score on the rebound. 0-1
13th min Moretonville win another free kick 25yrds out but put their shot well wide.
14th min Tyler wins the Moretonville goal kick in midfield and puts it back into Scott H whose shot goes just wide.
19th After another Moretonville free kick is cleared Shayne puts the ball up to Edgar which falls to Tyler who scores 1-1
Another couple of free kicks follow, one for each side, and Jamie chips the ball over into the penalty area for Lewis to get a chance on goal.
22nd min Lions corner reaches Scott H and then Edgar whose shot goes just over the post.
25th min Moretonville free kick just outside the Lions penalty area is cleared out to Reeve then to Scott L who passes the ball up to Lewis and Scott H, Jamie works his way into the penalty area and gets a pull on the back of his shirt, but the ref gives nothing.
26th min Shayne and Lewis work the ball beautifully up the pitch with a series of passes and Jamie manages to get his foot on it and put it in the back of the net! 2-1
29th min Lions score again with Scott H working the ball into the back of the net, despite the lineman giving offside the ref over rules the decision. 3-1
30th Jamie chips the ball over the midfield to Scott H who puts the ball out to Lewis and his shot goes just wide.
Half Time 3-1
Second half starts the same as the first-scrappy, with the Lions having to play themselves out of the trouble that they keep putting themselves into!!
After a succession of free kicks Charlie and Jamie make way for Nathan and Callum.
10th min Dylan clears the ball to Callum whose pass allows Lewis to have a shot which the defenders clear.
12th min Moretonville win a free kick
13th min Lions win a free kick
14th min Edgar clears the ball up to Lewis and he smashes it into the top left corner 4-1
15th min Moretonville win a free kick
The Lions are battling hard in midfield with Reeve, Edgar and Tyler chasing down everything.
21st min Scott L clears the ball up to Dylan who passes to Shayne then onto Callum and finally Nathan who puts it in the back of the net 5-1
23rd min Callum plays a fantastic ball diagonally to Scott H who gets his second 6-1
Scott H makes way for Jamie, as the eagle eyed of you may notice that would mean the Lions would be playing with 5 at the back. It was as much as a surprise for Dylan to learn that he was now a striker!!! And thanks to his mild mannered, gently spoken father Jeremiah, screaming at him about keeping onside we were all aware of Darren's plan. Dylan was the only outfield player not to score this season so would this be his lucky day??
26th min Shayne runs to-wards goal, knowing full well he can put it past the keeper passes it to the left allowing Dylan to put it in the back of the net, well done Dylan, and Shayne 7-1
28th min Lewis one on one with the keeper passes the ball to Charlie who sees his shot saved
Full Time 7-1
Man of the Match went to Scott L for good attitude and encouraging words for his team mates, well done Scott!
One more match to go and the unbeaten run goes on.......
