All,
The u13`s were in league action against Tattenhoe Magics, as you can see we were beaten which ended our 6 game unbeaten run, today was not our day, we have to put it behind us and look forward to our next game.

Match report – Tattenhoe Magics 2 – 0 Newport lions U13's.
You know the old toilets at the club house, well you know what happens on a hot and very busy summer day when Crump sells over 100 balti pies and someone leaves the loo door open -Yes! you have to hold your nose. Well that unfortunate smell is the nazal equivalent of how well the lads played today – Yep – we were toilet!!
Now don't get me wrong there are some positives we can take from today – the Tattenhoe pavillion does a lovely coffee, the car parking's good and Man U got a right pasting so, as they say - every cloud has a silver lining!!
In all honesty it wasn't that bad, it's just that we have got use to seeing heroics from the boys recently and there were some passages of good play and pressure, in fact we had the ball in the net twice during the game, we also had a penalty, and Tattenhoe went down to 10 men but it was one of those days when things just didn't go our way.
So, doing a summary of Jojo's superb notes I see that the lions conspired to create shooting chances 3 times in the first half with only 1 on target whilst in the second half we managed just 4 shots again with only 1 on target – and that sums up the reason for the result – we just couldn't put it away.
Tattenhoe deserve a lot of praise for this, they maintained there shape and desire all match and were particularly well organised in defence catching us out with the offside trap on numerous occasions much to the frustration of both the lads and the freezing “MADS” (Mums and Dads as they are better known) well you gotta be mad to stand out in this arctic weather!
So that was that – back to the Newport clubhouse where we learnt from Cool-Hand Callum that his Dad, Brian was away working and would be watching the Liverpool - Man U game on the radio!! We also discovered the true identity of Peter Pans girlfriend Tinkerbell, as Jojo somehow managed to get a photograph of her somewhere in the Cosgrove area and finally we understand that professional footballers can have strange demands but surely none of them has asked for Rose petals to be thrown on the path as they walk along to create a soft and fragrant barrier between new studs in No 1 sons boots and the concrete beneath!!
So it's a question of putting this behind us and moving on positively to next weeks game – Plenty for Darren Manager to work on in Training and with a bit of luck next weekend we will play better.
Come on the lions!!
The Squad comprises :-
Manager – Darren “Haircut 100” Clarke, Assistant – Owen “Baldilocks and the 3 hairs” Brown. Goalie – Sonny “Brave heart” Clayton.
