UCL Premier Division
Thrapston Town 0 Newport Pagnell Town 5
Tuesday, 23 August 2011
Newport stormed to an emphatic victory over the Premier newcomers at Chancery Lane.
Daren dykes opened the scoring two minutes in when he received a pass to shoot from close range. Shame I missed it as I was getting a Burger at the time!
Before Half time Thrapston forced Newport to clear some danger off the goal line before The Swans could have added more goals through Lawless and dykes.
Then just afterwards the Thrapston number 9 forced a good save out of Josh Mcadoo.
The Trapston keeper then delibratly handled the ball out side the area which the Swans won a free kick but there was no yellow awarded to the keeper.
The Swans strengthened their position in the opening minute of the second half with Dean Buss adding a second goal when he met the ball from a corner with a headed goal.
Then Richard Armstrong made it three ten minutes into the second half after he picked up a rebound to fire past the Thapston keeper.
Dominic Lawless put his name on the scoresheet after 69 minutes when he neatly slotted the ball under the Thapston Keeper.
John Thorpe received a yellow card after a late challenge on the edge of the penalty area after a late tackle. Just before this there was studs shown by one of their players but no yellow card there.
Then Shan McBride was tripped in the Thrapston Penalty area but no foul was given.
But there was time for Daren dykes netted his second two minutes later to complete the rout. dykes beating the advancing keeper to the ball to place it into the net.
Thapston continued to test the Swans defence at times and again forced another goal line clearance towards the end of the game.
Daren dykes narrowly missed out on his hat trick when his run was picked up by Scot Mukern, dykes header just inches wide of the goal post.
