Early season pacesetters Wellingborough are now without a win in four games after coming off second best to the Swans.
A Dominic Lawless double after 15 and 54 minutes gave Newport their third win on the road, maintaining their 100% record on their travels.
The first chance fell to Big Rich when his long range effort was equally well saved by the Dough Boys keeper. Dom came close when his shot was comfortably saved by the keeper.
And it was Dom Lawless to open the scoring when Darren dykes put him through the Wellingborough defence for Dom to round the keeper and place the ball into an empty net.
Dom almost added his second immediately afterwards in the first half but shot wide of the mark, then a chance was also saved from Shan McBride.
The Swans pushed the Dough Boys back and forced them to defend and limited Wellingborough to very few chances in the first half. The best chance they had was well saved by Josh turning it around the post for a corner. Then just before the stroke of half time a good chances was present to the Dough Boys but the shot was scuffed wide!
The Swans started the second half even stronger when Daren dykes flicked on a header to Dom Lawless, Doms pace once again beating the Wellingborough defence, his shot hitting the post to re-bound out for a Dough Boys defender to scrabble away for a corner. Cries for hand ball were turned down after it looked like his hand/arm was cradling the ball.
Then Richard Armstrong was shown his marching orders after he was adjudged to have deliberately elbowed the Wellingborough player in the face. Video evidence proves otherwise¡K¡K¡K
This didn¡¦t affect the Swans play as another headed flick on by dykesy was again chassed by Dom Lawless who this time didn¡¦t make any mistakes, placing the ball past the Wellingborough keeper to double the Swans advantage.
More chances were created by the Swans with dykes, Lawless and Beefy storming run up from defence all came close to adding more goals.
Josh didn¡¦t have a completely quiet evening in goal as he had to be alert once making a cracking save from a near shot from the Wellingborough number 9 then again another good stop kept Wellingborough goalless.
Hopefully the highlights via You Tube will follow once edited and uploaded. Please keep an eye on here and I will post the link. ļ
