Spalding's recent good run was halted in its tracks at Willen Road as the Swans found their goal touch to extend their own fine run of results.
Spalding started the most confident of both teams with two early attempts from crosses well dealt with by the Swans defence.
The Swans were not going to lie down as a great start by Newport saw Daren dykes open the scoring after six minutes when he found space to receive a low cross and made no mistake as he drilled the ball past the keeper.
Keith Williams then hit the post from a fierce free kick then just after Doms shot just went wide of the far post.
Then 12 minutes later Dom Lawless doubling the home advantage, a cross from dykes was brilliantly finished first time by Dom as his looping shot found the top right hand side of the goal.
Prolific marksman Greg Smith replied for the Tulips after 39 minutes when a stray pass from the Newport defence was picked up by him after some good build up play by Spalding. His low drive from the edge of the area found the bottom right of the goal.
But within two minutes the two goal margin was restored by dykes from a lovely curling shot from the edge of the area giving the keeper no chance to reach it.
The Tulips began to get back into the game but the Newport defence stood strong.
A 55th minute Sean McBride goal tightened Newport's grip on the points when he out leapt the goal keeper to flick a cross goal wards which found the empty net.
Spaldings number 9 had a good chance to reduce arrears but his shot was tipped around the post by Josh.
Daren dykes' completed his hat trick last minute of the match when he again found some space and at a stretch managed to shoot past the keeper.
A brilliant performance all round by Newport not just scoring the 5 goals but also limiting Spaldings chances.
