The Tigers Tamed by the Swans!
This was a miss match by nature and this almost came true in the first half. The Swans were to change things in the second half after they tamed the Tigers after a poor first half.
Holbeach Utd started better than Newport and had an early chance denied by the stand in Jack in goal. The better chances fell to Hobeach and couple of there shots went over the cross bar.
Not much was created by Newport Pagnell in the first half but the best chance was put wide by dykes.
Thorpey had to clear the ball of the line to prevent Holbeach from taking the lead then the Tigers penned the Swans back from three successive corners.
Holbeach took the lead when Richard Armstrong was ajudge to have fouled the Holbeach forward. The Holbeach Utd striker made no mistake and despatching the penalty.
The Swans were pleased for a poor first half to come to an end, maybe they still had Tuesday night on there mind.
The second half saw the Swans playing more aggressive attacking football. This showed in the first minute of the second half when some good work from Tappy put Dom down the left. His cross was met by Daren dykes on the line to level the game for the Swans.
Then later a Holbeach defender appeared to stop a shot on the line via a hand but nothing was given.
dykes rattled the bottom of the post from a long range shot and then a good save was forced out of the Holbeach keeper.
The Swans took the lead when some excellent work by Massimo when he joined the attack. He won the ball back of the defender but was tripped which preventing him from getting to the ball. Lawless converted the Penalty to gibe Newport the deserved lead with 6 minutes remaining.
Holbeach didn’t really threaten much as the Swans cancelled out any attack from the Tigers in the second half.
Revenge was sweet after the 2-0 defeat away at Carters Park earlier in the season.
