Wellingborough avenged an earlier home defeat by the Swans with this Willen Road success by reversing the score.
The Swans should have gone ahead when Daren dykes trickery took him down the right, his shot went just wide of the far post.
Wellingborough Then had a good chance but the shot from the number 9 just cleared the cross bar.
End to end attacking football saw more chances missed from both sides. Lawless produced a good save out the Doughboys keeper when he faced a one on one with him then a similar chance was presented to the Wellingborough forward but Josh making a good stop with his feet.
Debutant Adrian Butler put the Doughboys ahead three minutes past the half hour mark. The intial chance was punched out by Josh but Butlers chip sailed over Josh who was caught in no mans land.
Just before the stroke of half time Lawless rattled the post with a hard near shot form the left side. It was going to be a ‘Force Field in the front of the goal night’.
The Second half started like the first finished, end to end attacking football and chances missed. This started with a Dough Boys defender having to clear from in fornt of his goal then up the other end it was Wellingboroughs turn to hit the post. A nice curling shot which illuded everyone hit the inside of the post and bounced back out.
The Swans did have several shots on goal but Wellingborough got bodies in the way to block them.
Josh had to make another good save to put the ball around for a corner.
Then one of the best saves of the season was made by the Wellingborough keeper from a hard close range shot from Daren dykes.
Top scorer Jason Turner sealed Wellingborough's win with sixteen minutes remaining after Wellingborough caught Newport out on the break.
More chances were created by the Swans but a las that Force Field in front of that goal got bigger and It was to Wellingboroughs night, but not ours!
