Sleaford defied the weather by entertaining the Swans in the only game to go ahead of the day after a late snow flurry!
Newport completed a double over Sleaford in a close contest at Eslaforde Park.
There was little goalmouth action until Newport's Keith Williams went close with a free kick just past the half hour mark.
When Sleaford replied Ash Murrell headed over from a Will Rawdon corner.
Newport took a 44th minute lead when a Danny Watson cross from the right was converted by Daren dykes from close range.
A reflex save from home keeper Ricky Drury denied dykes a second before the break.
A lively start to the second period saw Newport keeper Josh McAdoo thwart Liam Tunstall but it was Newport who scored again after 53 minutes. A Williams corner was only half cleared and Jack Croxford fired home from 20 yards, his first goal for the first team.
Sleaford fought back and cut the deficit after 59 minutes with a confident finish from Joe Braithwaite.
Sleaford substitute Micky Stones had a chance to make an instant impact but glanced his header wide of the target., while Braithwaite shot over from a Richard Jackson cross and Kris Jones headed wide from a Tim Beadles corner.
Right at the end Newport sub Daniel Silver created a chance with a fine run, only to be thwarted by Drury.
