Final
Newport Pagnell Town 0 - 1 Beaconsfield Sycob

This was always going to be a hard game against the Spartans South Midlands League Champions. Newport started the better out of both teams with some good passing and attacking football but the Beaconsfield defence help up well. Beaconsfield centre forward should have been in the book with a late studded challenge on Thorpey but only a free kick was awarded (Vinny got worse for less a few weeks ago). The same centre forward was yellow carded 20 minutes later for a late challenge. Bruce produced a good over the bar save from a shot to keep the score goalless and Beaconsfield later fluffed a shot on the edge of the area. Richard Armstrong had a good looping shot saved and Drew Mitten and Kelly came close to scoring for the Swans.
Half Time 0-0.
The Physical battle continued between both sides but Newport coped well with some late kicks and challenges. Beaconsfield soaked the Newport attack better at the start of the second half not letting much past them. Bruce made another good save but it wasn’t until the 61st minute a goal was scored when the Beaconsfield forward was controversially tripped, Stuart Swift scoring the resulting penalty. Newport pressed to get an equaliser and came close towards the end through Richard Armstrongs shot which went wide also the Beaconsfield goalkeeper saving a few minutes later. Then in the last few minutes Drews over head attempt also just went wide.
Newport Pagnell coped well with Beaconsfield Physical play and present. Richard Armstrong battle well and gave what he got. Thropey played very well and we were very impressed with Joss Bingo who defended really well at left back.
Well done lads to getting to the final and you were unlucky to loose on the day.
